Ruby Weapons

In your travels around Astonia you will encounter the well-known lady Ruby on several occasions. She has a house in Aston next to Kelly and, unless you have previously met her and been exceptionally polite while completing her favors, she will show you the door in short order. After completing at least two favors, Ruby offers you a weapon corresponding to your highest weapon skill. Each Ruby weapon carries two magical enhancements that can reach up to +20 based on your level and how many favors you have completed before claiming your reward.
Once you accept a weapon, Ruby resets the favor list so you can repeat them when your stats improve. The first Ruby weapon (after two favors) grants +3 stats and requires level 5; completing three favors yields +4 stats with a level 10 requirement. Ruby always ensures the weapon is usable by you, which can limit its stats according to your current level (maximum +9 prior to Arch). For higher enhancements, keep pushing your level and repeat her quests.
If you annoy Ruby and she refuses to speak with you, that specific favor becomes locked. Your only recourse is to accept a weapon, which conveniently resets all favors and her memory of the slight. Should this happen while you are on your first or second favor, you must locate and complete different favors until you reach two successful tasks before she will offer a weapon again.

Ruby Tip: When in the Swamps, let Ruby’s dialogue scroll off the chat window, then use Page Up to review it. That prevents the text from shifting while you choose the correct response.
